Driving Test Tips From Driving Test Angel,

The missing Ingredient in Driving Instruction’

Common reasons for failure

  • Observation at Junctions: Ineffective observation and judgment
  • Reverse Parallel Parking: Ineffective observation or lack of accuracy
  • Use of Mirrors: Not checking or not acting on what is seen
  • Reversing Around a Corner: Ineffective observation or lack of accuracy
  • Moving Away Safely: Ineffective observation
  • Incorrect Positioning: At roundabouts or bends
  • Lack of Steering Control: Steering too early or too late
  • Incorrect Positioning: Turning right at junctions and in one way streets
  • Inappropriate Speed: Going too slow or being hesitant

Top 10 tips for success

  • Remember you CAN drive. Your instructor would not have advised you to take the test if you could not.
  • Practice until you can drive without verbal of physical intervention from your instructor for the duration of a full driving lesson or a mock driving test
  • On your test day, make sure you have your ID, your theory test pass certificate and your appointment letter
  • You should arrive at least 10 minutes before your test is due to start. It will give you time to do the breathing exercise that you learnt with “Drivingtest Angel ” Program.
  • If you wear glasses or contact lenses, make sure you take them with you.
  • Wear appropriate clothing, take off any thick coats before the test as they might make you feel uncomfortable. Wear comfortable shoes.
  • Have at least one driving lesson in the area near your Test Centre. If you can have one just before, even better as it will give you an idea of any new road works, level of traffic etc
  • If you don't understand what the examiner has asked you to do, just politely ask them to repeat the instruction.
  • If you made a mistake, don’t give up, just do it again correctly. As long as you haven't done anything terribly wrong or dangerous, you can still pass. Don't instantly assume you've failed – it may only have been a minor fault. Put it behind you and carry on driving as well as you can.
  • The start and end of the test are where a lot of mistakes occur, so concentration is needed there.
  • Do your “Mental” homework well before your Test day. Listen to Driving Test Angel Program regularly and you will stay calm and in control.
