“This program is the missing ingredient in successful driving Instruction”
Dr John Wells. Grade-Six
Top 10 Tips
1. Remember you CAN drive. Your instructor would not have advised you to take the test if they doubted you.
2. Practice until you can drive without verbal of physical intervention from your instructor for the duration of a full driving lesson or a mock driving test.
3. Have at least one driving lesson in the area near your Test Centre. If you can have one just before, even better as it will give you an idea of any new road works, level of traffic etc.
4. Make sure you have your ID and your theory test pass certificate and your valid signed Great Britain or Northern Ireland driving licence (both parts)
5. You should arrive at least 15 minutes before your test is due to start. It will give you time to do the breathing exercise you have learnt.
6. Wear appropriate clothing, take off any thick coats before the test as they might make you feel uncomfortable. Wear comfortable shoes. Remember your glasses if you need them!
7. If you don’t understand what the examiner has asked you to do, just politely ask them to repeat the instruction.
8. If you made a mistake, don’t instantly assume you’ve failed – it may only have been a minor fault. Put it behind you and carry on driving as well as you can.
9. The start and end of the test are where a lot of mistakes occur, so concentration is needed there.
10. Do your “Mental” homework well before your Test day & listen to Driving Test Angel Programme regularly to stay calm and in control!
